Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow ~

This used to be me when I would forget to pluck my mustache and beard and my 5 o'clock shadow would get the best of me.

Not any more! This past Saturday, I went to get my hair cut and I also decided to get my eyebrows waxed. Now, we've had the eyebrow conversation before and everyone knows I hardly have any. However, there are still these little annoying stray hairs that grow and need to be removed. Cassie, my wonderful hairdresser, waxed them for me and then I decided to have her do my lip and chin. Being a natural brunette, I have more facial hair than is considered desirable by our American standards. Cassie complied with my wishes and waxed my lip and chin. Then, I asked her to just do my jaws too. She made sure I was serious and again, she complied. Well, let me tell you . . . . that HURTS!!!!! After the pain stopped, my face felt so great to the touch. It was the softest skin I had ever felt. I was so excited! I was feminine again! My 5 o'clock shadow was gone! No one would mistake me for Mr. French anymore!

That was 4 days ago. . . . . now, I'm wondering if I didn't make a mistake. My face is not so soft as on that first day. It's also a little bumpy - I've had few breakouts. It even seems oilier than before. Worst of all, I can't help but wonder if my facial hair might come back with a vengeance and grow like this - uuuggh! What if it does? I guess I will have to have it waxed on a constant basis, or maybe start shaving. I did see a newscast once about women actually shaving their whole faces to exfoliate and renew their skin . . . .

Once again, I'm craving cuteness. I just hope I didn't go too far this time. I'll keep you posted.

Denise :)

Oh dear...I have no idea what will happen to you now...I just don't know. Your skin is probably just mad at you for ripping the hair out so it's showing some emotion by breaking out.

Be gentle and maybe it'll come around...

I've been wanting to have my eyebrows waxed to see what it's like to not have all the little fuzzies that just can't be plucked...not sure why I haven't done it!

that waxing opens up those pores and they are vulnerable. I am sure it will go away soon.
I have always been too chicken to get my stray chin hair (shhh!don't tell anyone!)But once when I was in beauty school we were practicing on each other and some girl totally took off one of my eyebrows!!! It just has never been the same since! HAHA!

Oh honey!! You are SO BRAVE to wax your entire face like that...I too am a little on the 'hairy' side - it's the Italian in me - and have often thought about what it would be like to do something like that but I've always been too chicken.

I've had my brows done a few times but it's not anything that I have ever been able to maintain...or even cared to. They will just have to love me as is....hair and all. HA!!

But let me know how it grows back...I've always been told that would cause it to come back like whiskers on a man - another reason I've always been too chicken.

Well, lets hope it is not going to come in thicker as you said. It probably won't. I guess being of light hair, I don't notice so much, but I too have some strays that need to be plucked. I check them weekly and sometimes it seems I don't see anything, then just a few days later there will be a long honking hair coming our of my chin. I am always disgusted when I notice it because I teach and wonder how many of my students noticed before I did. Eeeeek!
