Friday Puzzler #2

Still staying in the "road" (see my post from last Friday if you haven't already) - when you see a dead dog or cat on the road, in many cases, it is over to the side and laying on its side like it just fell over there. What do you think about that? The same is true for wild forms of roadkill also. I'll see a possum, a raccoon, or an armadillo just laying over to the side, in the curb/shoulder area. No, I don't live in Dogpatch but I'm close to it :)

Just this morning on the way to work, I saw two different dead animals (and one single shoe - a dark oxford - uugggh!) that were both on the shoulder of the interstate. I have seen dead animals in the middle of the road and mangled, but more often, to the side. Do you think someone actually stopped after they hit something and just picked it up and laid it out of the way so others wouldn't continue to hit it? Maybe the animal's adrenaline kicked in and it ran out of the way before succumbing to injuries? Hmmmmmm. . . . .
Have a great weekend!
Love,
Denise

LOL!:)

I usually see them, as I am fixing to run over the dead animal (God rest it's soul) in the middle of the road.

*Sigh*

I have to swerve to miss the poor things.

Shoes, however, are always on the side of the road or on the median when I see them.

And, as far as I can recall, I've never seen a dead animal and an oxford at the same time. I need to get out more.;)

Have a great weekend, Denise!
Love,
Amy:)

That is a really good question. I have never thought about that but Im sure I will everytime I pass a dead animal from now on. LOL

I saw a cat and a deer this past week. It always makes me sad when it is a family pet because I think to myself, "someone will be missing their kitty tonight." What I think happens is what you stated last. They get run over and don't die instantly. In their attempt to run away...the shoulder is as far as they got before they had no more to give.
